All CCS students must complete

180 quarter units

University requirements

  • • UC Entry-Level Writing Requirement (ELWR)
  • • American History and Institutions (AMH)
  • • Academic residence (3 terms minimum)
  • • Minimum 2.0 GPA at graduation
  • • CCS college residency (6 quarters minimum in CCS)

CCS General Education (8 courses)

  • • 8 courses unrelated to the major, broadly distributed across university disciplines
  • • Ethnicity requirement (1 course)
  • • No more than 2 courses from any single department or language instruction without advisor approval
  • • Minimum 3 units per GE course; AP/IB cannot satisfy CCS GE
